Bankaltimtara's Assets Grow 13.8 Percent

The total assets of PT Bank Pembangunan Daerah Kaltim and Kaltara (Kaltimtara Bank) grew by 13.80% compared to 2017. Based on performance data as of December 31, 2018, the total assets recorded by Bank Kaltimtara reached IDR 25.75 trillion or higher by IDR 3.12 trillion from those realized at the end of 2017, which amounted to IDR 22.63 trillion.

Abdul Haris Sahilin, Corporate Secretary of the Regional Development Bank of East Kalimantan and North Kalimantan (BPD Kaltimtara), said that the growth of Bank Kaltimtara's assets is higher than the growth of banking assets in East Kalimantan and Kaltara.

"In the midst of the global economic uncertainty that still occurred throughout 2018, Bank Kaltimtara managed to record good performance. This was illustrated by the achievement of Total Assets and Total Third Party Funds (DPK) that were collected up to December 31, 2018 which experienced growth from "The previous year and achieved higher than what was targeted in the Business Plan until the end of 2018," he said, Tuesday (1/15/2019).

With the realization of assets of Rp25.75 trillion, Kaltimtara Bank has a share of assets of 21.78% of commercial bank assets in East Kalimantan and Kaltara which currently number 46 banks.

Abdul Haris acknowledged that most of the components or formers of the total assets came from public deposits that were collected by Bankaltimtara or Third Party Funds (DPK) and reached Rp18.84 trillion.

The total realization of these deposits increased by Rp3.19 trillion or grew by 20.42% compared to the realization of the end of 2017 which was at Rp15.65 trillion.

"The collection of deposits amounted to Rp18.84 trillion, the position of Bank Kaltimtara had a share of 19.27% ​​among 46 commercial banks in East Kalimantan and Kaltara. The good news from the performance of deposits was 74.38% or Rp14.02 trillion as deposits those from the private sector or pure people who experienced an increase of Rp922 billion or grew 7.04% from 2017 amounting to Rp13.10 trillion to Rp14.02 at the end of 2018, "he explained.

Abdul Haris added that the increase in private deposits was the impact of the massive opening of the Bankaltimtara office network in the Sub-Districts in the interior and border areas of the East Kalimantan and Kaltara Provinces.

"The role of Bank Kaltimtara as an agent of development by providing banking services to the public was found to be able to increase large public funds that had not yet entered banks due to reasons of access and infrastructure," said Haris. (*)
