Here's the Strategy for Bankaltimtara Syariah to Boost Market Share

Bankaltimtara Syariah continues to try to improve the sharia economic sector in East Kalimantan. One way is to do a spinoff in 2020. Until now the sharia segment is considered to still leave a large space.

In 2017, the Islamic banking market was even able to maintain positive growth at 3.4 percent. Previously, in 2015, the growth was minus 1.21 percent and eased to minus 0.38 percent a year after. In December 2017, the position of Islamic banks and Islamic business units (UUS) assets in East Kalimantan was in the position of Rp. 7.6 trillion.

That number rose 13 percent compared to the previous year. For financing performance, last year it reached Rp 4.5 trillion or grew 4.31 percent from the previous year. In terms of third party funds collection (DPK) there was a growth of 15.27 percent with a value of Rp. 5.29 trillion in the same period in East Kalimantan.

Director of Bankaltimtara Syariah Hairuzzaman said, in accordance with statutory provisions, after 15 years Bankaltimtara Syariah must stand alone. By 2020, Bankaltimtara Syariah will become a subsidiary of PT Bankaltimtara.

"After standing alone, we can help sharia market share which is still five percent. We will increase for the first year to ten percent. We are optimistic that there are very many Muslims in East Kalimantan, "Hairuzzaman said on Wednesday (10/17)
