In 2018, Bankaltimtara Receives Additional Capital Deposit More Than Rp 31 Billion

Three regional governments realized their additional capital at PT Kaltim-Kaltara Regional Development Bank (Bankaltimtara) in 2018, then.

The three regional governments are Kaltara Provincial Government, West Kutai Regency Government, and Balikpapan City Government. The total capital participation of the three reaches around Rp31 billion.

The head of the Bankaltimtara Secretariat, Abdul Haris Sahilin, said that until now the capital deposit in Bankaltimtara amounted to Rp3,264 trillion. Thus Bankaltimtara occupies the position of the three largest capital deposits among other BPDs in Indonesia.

"We are under Bank DKI and Bank Jatim for the amount of capital deposits," Haris said on Wednesday (2/1/2019). The amount of the capital deposit, said Haris, proves that the Regional Government's commitment in East Kalimantan and Kaltara is very large on Bankaltimtara's progress.

It is known, Bankaltimtara shares are wholly owned by the East Kalimantan Provincial Government and North Kalimantan, along with 15 regencies / cities in them. "Although we do not have an IPO (initial public offering), our capital participation is the third highest in Indonesia. We are certainly grateful to the regional government that has committed to provide capital participation," Haris said.

In 2019, said Haris, several other regional governments will also realize additional capital participation. Among them are Balikpapan and Bontang. It is estimated, the amount of capital participation realization in 2019, is greater than 2018, then.

"Many local governments have budgeted additional capital participation in 2019. In fact, they have already been included in their respective Regional Budget Regulations. There are Balikpapan, Bontang, and others. So, we are just waiting for the realization," Haris said.

Haris hopes that the addition of capital participation can be realized at the beginning of the year. Thus, the paid-up capital can immediately be utilized by Bankaltimtara.

For the Regional Government, said Haris, the faster the capital participation is realized, the more dividends will be obtained.

"For us (Bankaltimtara), the faster it is realized, the faster we will use it. So that we will expand our business faster, whether it is improving services, new products, or opening a new office network," said Haris. (*)
