This is The Effort of OJK and Bankaltim to Growing Interest to Saving from An Early Age

Accustomed to saving from an early age in schools in the region, became one of the goals of OJK Kaltim improves financial inclusion in the region of East Kalimantan. In collaboration with local banks, OJK Kaltim together with BPD Kaltim branch Tana Paser launched savings account named Simpanan Pelajar (SimPel).

"This is one of our programs so that younger students can learn to manage their finances by saving on early age. The first deposit is only Rp5 thousand and then it can deposit at least Rp2 thousand, "said Head of OJK Kaltim Dwi Ariyanto in front of the students of Madrasah Ibtidaiyah Negeri (MIN) Tanah Grogot, Paser District, yesterday (21/2).

A day before, OJK Kaltim along with BPD Kaltim visited SD 001 Tanah Grogot. Dwi explained, the benefits of saving from an early age will be felt later when students want to graduate. With SimPel products, anyone can get the services of trustworthy financial institutions such as BPD Kaltim. Differently, in the past, Dwi said, students who do not have ID card, hard to have an account at the bank. However, with SimPel, students can save, even with low nominal, according to their financial ability.

"The role of BPD Kaltim not only as a financial institution but also as a development agent. Therefore, we want, to continue to the education of students from elementary to high school level can be guaranteed. Of course, by instilling mental and cultural savings at an early age through SimPel program, "said President Director (CEO) BPD Kaltim Zainuddin Fanani.

Zainuddin said this program is one of BPD Kaltim commitment as a form of concern for human resource development in the region. Added Head of BPD Kaltim Branch Tana Paser Armiwinsih, in Paser Regency, it has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) SimPel program with 60 schools.

"All our network cash offices are required to implement this program. Alhamdulillah, the enthusiasm of school and students are very high. Service is guaranteed to the maximum because our officers will pick up the collected funds from each school, "explained Armi.

While Executing Task (Plt) Head of Education and Culture Paser Murhariyanto welcomed the program OJK and BPD Kaltim. According to him, this very positive activity provides many benefits for students.

In addition to improving the spirit of saving, there is an early financial management education that can be obtained even to the elementary students. So when continuing his education to a higher level, interest in saving is already embedded.
